We exist to support local pastors in transforming their communities for Jesus
New Vision for Guatemala, Inc was formed to support the work of local pastors in small communities in Guatemala to bring transformation thru the love of Jesus.
Our first project is in Rincon Grande, Zaragoza, and is led by Pastor Lester Guerrero. Pastor Lester leads Iglesia Nueva Vision, and he has a passion for his community. Rincon Grande is a small agricultural community of about 1500 people. Rincon Grande is known as the Land of the Strawberries, and they do grow delicious strawberries. In 2023 we started a small school to serve 64 students in grades K-6. Our school day consists of grades K-3 in the morning and 4-6 in the afternoon. Allowing our older students to attend school in the afternoons gives them time to help their families in the mornings. Since the Covid Pandemic years students in public schools in Guatemala have fallen further and further behind grade level. Pastor Lester and his wife used funds from a local missionary to start a tutoring program run by a young teacher from the community to try and boost the academic level of students in Rincon Grande. The families showed dedication in sending their students to participate in this special opportunity. From this small program we could see that a local private school could be successful in Rincon Grande. The teacher from the tutoring program was the first person we hired as a teacher for our new school.
How did we choose Rincon Grande? First, we wanted a place where we can make a difference and since Rincon Grande is a small well-defined community we believe it is an ideal place for our first project. Second, we looked for a pastor who has a vision for his community and Pastor Lester communicated to us a great vision for his community. With these questions answered we needed a Guatemalan partner who could help us execute our vision and Provee (www.provee.org) fits our needs. They are already working with children and parents to advance education in communities around San Lucas, Guatemala and host teams in their beautiful guest house. We believe we have great partners and a vision that will shine the light of Jesus through our project in Rincon Grande. We hope you will join us in this project.

Volunteer with us
Our volunteers can serve in several ways:
· We have VBS days, where our volunteers will interact thru stories, crafts, and fun with our students. There’s nothing like playing corn hole with 20 second and third graders or making bracelets or sharing Bible stories with all of our students.
· We have small construction projects for those who want to build. We build common items like bunk beds and shelves for storage as needs are realized. Imagine the face of children who get their first bed to sleep by themselves.
· We host small medical clinics. Checking eyes, ears and throats of students, depending on your skills in identifying medical needs, we can offer a clinic to the community.
· We host educational sessions for our families. Our moms and dads are eager to learn how they can have a more healthy family.
